Chinese Media Outlets have come out with reports claiming that GOT7’s Jackson Wang And (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi are dating, here is why it happened and his response.

On February 22, GOT7’s Jackson Wang And (G)I-DLE’s Yuqi names became trending on Weibo, China’s biggest social media platform as fans discussed the recent dating rumor involving the two idols.

The rumors began with a video shared to Weibo, the video shows Yuqi visiting Jackson’s home some time in late 2021, the video also alleges that Yuqi carried three roses gifted by Jackson the next day while being accompanied by her staff. The paparazzi noted that Yuqi driver was sent by Jackson himself.

Due to the video going viral, both idols names trended on Weibo as fans speculated on whether the rumor is true or not. However, soon, many fans explained that Jackson had actually worked with Yuqi on the song “Giant” recently.

On February 23, Jackson Wang’s studio released an official statement refuting the rumors and addressing the video in question. The team calls out the independent media account in question “Photographer Liu Da Chui” and says they took advantage of the company’s artists’ influential power and released video clips pieced together to twist the truth. They used that to mislead the public and cause misunderstandings and said it was normal for Jackson and his friends to gather at his house.

As a result of the video published, the team says their artist’s privacy has been invaded and his reputation was damaged, thus, they’re filing a police report. They also thank fans for their continuous love and support.

In other news, (G)I-DLE was recently confirmed to be returning with new music soon.
