Ryu Jun Yeol, IU, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, and Bae Sung Woo are confirmed as leads for the upcoming drama “Money Game” (literal title)!

On January 28, a representative of Naver Webtoon announced the casting news for the new OTT (over the top) series “Money Game.”

“Money Game” will be an eight-episode series based on webtoon writer Bae Jin Soo’s two works “Money Game” and “Pie Game.” In the story, money builds as time passes. The drama shall explore the events that unfold with 8 participants who are placed in extreme circumstances where they are exiled from society. The participants cooperate and betray each other repeatedly since the game can only end when someone dies.

Director Han Jae Rim, who worked on “The Face Reader” and the upcoming film “Emergency Declaration,” will be in charge of writing the script and directing.

“Money Game” will be produced by Studio N, which previously produced “Sweet Home,” “Our Beloved Summer,” and “Yumi’s Cells”

“Money Game” is currently slated to start filming in the first half of 2022.

My personal thoughts- written by Jass K.

AT LAST, IU is back! Its been a while but I am glad to see it.

The drama’s description sort of reminds me of squid game as it appears to be based on games and survival so I am down for that. I wonder which OTT platform will pick this up but I have my guesses already.

I am surprised to see that the drama will be about two works, not one, this is a bi… weird.. especially since the screenwriter who is working on this is not the same as the person who wrote the webtoons. This can go either way. I wonder why they decided to combine two webtoons in one project, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an approach like this in kdramaland.

The casting is quite solid. I love Ryu Jun Yeol’s acting and I am glad he’s picked his next project not too long after his last one which left me a bit disappointed. I’ve been missing Park Hae Joon too, this is a solid cast.

Park Jung Min and Bae Sung Woo are a great addition too.
