On January 31, Big Hit Music shared a statement to reveal two things that prompted fans to share many hashtags.
The statement reveals that BTS Jimin has tested positive for the virus. He has been experiencing sudden abdominal pain with a mild sore throat on January 30. He went to the hospital and after an examination, the doctors shared that Jimin was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and was tested positive for COVID-19.
Thus, he underwent successful surgery following the physician’s advice earlier today. He’s currently resting. He’s also receiving in-patient treatment for COVID-19.
“According to the medical staff, the operation went well, and Jimin is currently resting and recovering,” the statement continued. “He is expected to be hospitalized for the time being due to the combination of COVID-19 and appendicitis surgery. He is currently experiencing a mild sore throat, but it is improving.”
Big Hit also shared that Jimin didn’t come into contact with any of the members during the infectious stage,
“We will do our best to support Jimin so that he can recover his health as soon as possible, as we consider our artists’ health and safety as the top priority,” the agency concluded. “In addition, we will faithfully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the quarantine authorities.””
As a result, fans have trended two hashtags, #GetWellSoonJimin and #WeLoveYouJimin.
Get well soon Jimin!
