JTBC’s newest drama “Snowdrop” ratings are on the decline!

Earlier this week, JTBC announced their plans to air three episodes this week instead of two to help elevate netizens’ issues with the drama. However, despite their plans, it appears netizens have opted to not watch the drama.

According to Nielsen Korea, Friday special broadcast episode of “Snowdrop” scored an average nationwide rating of 1.853%, at the time, it marked the drama’s lowest number to date and the first time it dropped to the 1% range. Last week, the drama began with 2.9% and rose to 3.8% for its second episode.

The ratings numbers were lower for its original broadcast day on Saturday, the drama hit a new low with an average of 1.689% in ratings nationwide, marking the new low for the drama.

Snowdrop” has been under massive controversy for alleged historical distortion following its premiere on December 18, so far, many advertisers have pulled their ads from the drama including one of the three biggest sponsors of the drama. A netizen has also launched a petition demanding the drama to be canceled, it has surpassed 300K signatures in two days.

K-netizens have also been sending emails of their complaints to the Korean branch of Disney+ and announcing a boycott. While JTBC released a statement continuously denying they distorted history and standing by their decision to broadcast the drama.
