“Squid Game” might be not only getting a second season but a third one too.

On December 28, director Hwang Dong Hyuk participated in an interview with SBS and remarked that he’s in the middle of discussions with Netflix about a second and third season of “Squid Game.”

The director added that they will be reaching a conclusion soon, they’re well aware that audiences are super excited about the second season and they’re working hard with a positive outlook in preparations for it.

The director also revealed the core plotline of “Squid Game” season 2, he said the focus of the story will be on Lee Jung Jae’s character unraveling the mysteries of the organization behind it, Gi Hun will chase after the people responsible for this.

Netflix followed with a comment on the possibility of “Squid Game” season three after the director’s interview, they stated, ‘its true that we’re discussing a wide variety of possibilities for the drama including the production of season 3, however, nothing has been set in stone yet.”

Are you looking forward to Season 2 of “Squid Game”?

My personal thoughts- written by Jass K.

A third season? I don’t know how to personally feel about that.

I know that “Squid Game” has become so massive that avoiding a potential continuation is out of the window. On one side, I am super excited, on the other side, I honestly don’t care to see how it pans out that much, if they left it at that, I would’ve been content but of course, we’re talking Netflix so you bet they will milk this until they can’t anymore.

If there is one thing I am interested in its the relationship of the two brothers in the drama, a sidequel would be a good idea.

I just hope that the director plans the second and third season [if they approve that too] together so we can have a cohesive story. Expectations are through the roof with this one so I wish him all the best of luck. What I loved about squid game was just how meticulous he was planning and writing the drama, you can tell he’s revised the script over and over again, I really respected that because that takes a lot of effort.

Fighting!
