BTS has moved from Sony Music to Universal Music Group!

The news has been confirmed recently. The group has signed a new deal with Universal Music Group for distribution and marketing within the U.S. and other regions leaving Sony Music’s Columbia Records whom they had been signed to for the past three years.

Recently, HYBE confirmed the news in an official statement to the Wall Street Journal, they stated,

“While we greatly appreciate our time with Sony and will forever be grateful for all they have done and will continue to do, we look forward to our new chapter in partnership with Universal.”

This comes after HYBE and Universal announced a strategic partnership that would include debuting a new boy group earlier this year. Universal Music Group has been in charge of distributing BTS’s Japanese-language releases through their Japan branch.

Details about the financial deal weren’t disclosed.
