The weekend drama battle is getting heated!

On September 17, four new kdramas aired, among them, three are competing in the ratings battle. On September 17, “One the Woman” came on top while “The Veil” followed right behind it. On September 18, “The Veil” saw a noticeable rise in ratings that pushed it to the No.1 spot.

According to Nielsen Korea, “The Veil” recorded an average nationwide rating of 8.0%, this is a rise from its first episode and it’s personal best thus far. The drama has taken first place in its time slot across all channels.

This is considered great results since MBC had created a new time slot for “The Veil”. “The Veil” is led by Namgoong Min and is a blockbuster action drama about an elite field agent named Han Ji Hyuk [Namgoong Min] at the NIS (National Intelligence Service). He has a perfect record and immense skills at completing missions. However, when it appears that he’s driven an organized crime syndicate into a corner, he vanishes.

After a year, he resurfaces and decides to join a crime syndicate to find the traitor responsible for his downfall.

SBS’s “One the Woman,” which airs in the same time slot, saw a drop in ratings. It received an average nationwide rating of 7.1%.

Meanwhile, Kim Go Eun‘s new romantic comedy “Yumi’s Cells” saw a slight rise. It scored an average nationwide rating of 2.3%.

And for the first time since its premiere, tvN’s “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” saw a decline in ratings, its 7th episode fell to 9.1% in ratings.
