On August 27, the general military court confirmed that Seungri had filed an appeal on his sentence on August 19, his lawyer had already stated he would be filing for an appeal on the behalf of his client. The military prosecution had also filed an appeal on the sentence on August 25.
The prosecution had initially requested a five-year sentence.
Since Seungri requested an appeal before his discharge, his appeal trial will be held at the High Military Court in Yongsan, Seoul.
