B.I Bows His Head In Apology At His First Trial, His Father Blames Himself In Court

On August 27, B.I’s first hearing was held, more details about what transpired are coming out.

The idol was trialed for violation of the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. was held at Seoul Central District Court. He was indicted back in May of this year on suspicions of purchasing marijuana and LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) in 2016 and using some of the drugs.

During the trial, B.I’s legal representative stated the idol admits to the charges and is deeply reflecting on himself and asked for leniency.

B.I bowed his head in apology in front of the press, he also addressed the court stating he was deeply apologetic for his past mistakes, he said,

“I made a very stupid mistake in the past. It broke the hearts of many people, including my parents and my younger brother. I spent time thinking that I didn’t want to live, but now that I look back at my past, I will never make such a stupid mistake again, and I will live forever reflecting on my behavior.”

B.I also bowed his head in apology after his statement.

It was also reported that his father was present, he asked to speak before the court and delivered his statement in tears, he said,

“I should have educated my son better, it was my fault, I blame myself for showing off my child’s accomplishments with a big head. I’m still foolish father, but as a parent, I will take responsibility, reflect and work hard until the very end. Give my poor son, and my family a chance, and please show him mercy.”

The prosecution demanded a sentence of three years in prison along with a fine of 1.5 million won (approximately $1,300) for B.I.The final sentence will be determined at the sentencing trial scheduled for September 10.
