There is a recent controversy surrounding Song Joong Ki’s Building Construction, but why is it happening?

On July 2, SBS reported that the residents have been raising concerns over safety issues regarding the land construction in Itaewon, Yongsan District, this was purchased by Song Joong Ki in 2016 and construction has began last year.

The reason is became a problem was because the construction adjusted the slope of the road to fit the driveway at the height of the parking lot. The road became 30 to 50 centimeters (11.8 to 19.7 inches) higher than before and as a result, it became steeper and caused some car accidents.

Added to that construction has been ongoing for over a year and its causing an issue with noise for the neighbors.

Since adjusting roads without permission from the district office is a violation of Article 75 of the Road Act, Yongsan District Office has reportedly sent many letters to Song Joong Ki asking him to restore the road’s to its original state.

In response to that report, HISTORY D&C stated in an official statement that the construction work that was purchased by Song Joong Ki had some private land that was used as a road. That part was used in the design and construction.

Regardless, since they’ve received complaints about the inconvenience this has been causing to the traffic, some of the private land will be allowed to be used as roads. They also added that there has been a problem in the process of changing the road for traffic once again.

The agency promised to correct this without causing inconvenience to the people. A correction plan has been submitted to the Yongsan District Office as of July 1. They’re working to resolve this as soon as possible.
