Choi Woo Shik, Kim Da Mi, Kim Sung Cheol And Noh Jung Ui have been cast in the upcoming drama “Us That Year.”
The upcoming drama will be Studio N first original drama, its a romantic comedy about the portrayal of complicated feelings of couples that break up. The documentary the couple filmed 10 years ago in high school gains popularity forcing the former couple to be on camera together once more.
Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi had previously starred in the film “The Witch” together, this will be their second time collaborating.
Choi Woo Shik will be playing Choi Woong, he is an immature man who is free-spirited but brings out his sincerity when finding out there is something he wants to do in his life for the first time.
Kim Da Mi will take on the role of Gook Yeon Soo, the character life goal was to be first during her high school days. Now she’s trying to live as an adult adjusting to the reality with a wound in her heart.
Kim Sung Cheol will take on the role of Kim Ji Woong, a documentary director who has lived his life as an observer. He is lonely and has maintained an omniscient perspective for most of his life but begins to change after making a documentary about Choi Woong and Gook Yeon Soo.
Noh Jung Ui will be starring in the drama as a top idol named NJ who is preparing for the second act of her life. As she realizes she’s becoming normal again, she prepares to live out in the real world, she becomes interested in Choi Woong’s works and naturally grows curious about him.
“Us That Year” will premiere in the second half of this year.
Studio N has successfully produced webtoon-based dramas such as “Strangers from Hell” and “True Beauty,” this will be their first original project “Us That Year.”
The studio will simultaneously produce an original drama and a webtoon for “Us That Year.” The drama will feature the main leads as adults while the webtoon will be a prequel that focuses on their high school days. The webtoon will be serialized through Naver Webtoon.
