BTS’s “Butter” Reclaims The Top Spot At The Billboard’s Hot 100 From “Permission To Dance” For Its 8th Total Week

BTS’s “Butter” is back on top, again!

On July 26 local time, Billboard announced that BTS’s smash hit “Butter” had re-taken the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100,

Last week, BTS made history and broke records by replacing themselves at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with their new single “Permission to Dance.” The new song overtook “Butter,” which has spent 7 weeks at the top of the charts.

“Butter” now ties Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drivers License” for the title of the longest-running No. 1 song of 2021 so far.

According to Billboard, “Butter” showed the strongest resurgence in the sales portion of the tracking week, up by 132 percent to 115,600 downloads sold compared to last week’s 49,800.

“Permission to Dance” took the 7th spot on the charts, its sales fell by 39% from 140,100 downloads sold last week to 85,000 this week.

“Butter” also saw a 2 percent increase in radio airplay audience impressions and ranked No. 21 on the Radio Songs chart and No. 40 on the Streaming Songs chart.
