BTS “Butter” continues to create and break more records!

On July 6 local time, Billboard officially announced that BTS’s hit single “Butter” had remained No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart for the sixth consecutive week. The Hot 100 chart ranks the most popular songs in the U.S.

This is a huge new record, as there is only one song by a group that has ever topped the Hot 100 charts for more weeks from its debut, that song is Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s 1995 hit “One Sweet Day,” which topped the chart for 16 straight weeks starting with its debut.

“Butter” was also the top-selling song of the week: according to MRC Data (formerly Nielsen Music), the song racked up 11 million streams and 153,600 combined sales (downloads, cassette, and vinyl) in the week ending on July 1. “Butter” also garnered 28.3 million radio airplay audience impressions in the week ending on July 4.

#Butter6thNo1OnHot100 has topped twitter worldwide trends as fans celebrate the historical achievement.

Congratulations to BTS on their historic achievement!
