“Permission To Dance” has done it!

On July 19th local time, Billboard announced that BTS’s new song “Permission To Dance” has debuted at number one on the Hot 100 chart that ranks the most popular songs in the United States

“Permission To Dance” takes over the number one spot that was previously held by “Butter” which has been sitting at the top spot for the past seven weeks straight.

“Permission To Dance” is BTS’s 7th song to hit number one on the Hot 100 following in the footsteps of “Dynamite,” “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, “Life Goes On,” and “Butter.”

It took the group over 10 months to accomplish five number one hits which is the fastest time anyone has ever done it since Michael Jackson did so with nine months in 1987 to 1988.

BTS has broken even multiple more records with this historic number one. They’re the fourth act EVER with at least four No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100, after Ariana Grande (five), Justin Bieber (four), and Drake (four). Added to that, BTS is the fifth group in Billboard history to have replaced itself at the top of the Hot 100.

fans are trending multiple hashtags to celebrate the huge announcement including #PermissionToDanceNo1OnHot100 and ‘BTS PAVED THE WAY.’

congratulations to BTS on another historic accomplishment.
