Yang Hyun Suk and B.I have been indicted!

On June 7, it was belatedly revealed that the violent crimes department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office indicted B.I on the charge of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc, this happened on May 28.

And on that same day, Yang Hyun Suk was indicted for threatening retaliation. Both were indicted without detention.

In the case of B.I, he is suspected of purchasing marijuana and LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide) from an acquaintance (hereafter referred to as “A”) in 2016 and using it. The idol had previously admitted to some of the suspicions but it was not revealed what he’s admitted to exactly.

In the case of Yang Hyun Suk, he is suspected of coaxing and threatening “A” in 2016 to reverse their statement about B.I purchasing and using illegal drugs and attempting to cover up the investigation. At the time this happened, A changed their testimony and B.I was acquitted.

A had claimed that the investigation on B.I was covered up due to ties between the police and YG Entertainment. A had stated that the police didn’t investigate B.I’s case despite the evidence relating to it.

Yang Hyun Suk’s first hearing will take place on June 25, and B.I’s will be held on July 9.

  1. If B.I. was acquitted, how can he now face charges? I thought that was double jeopardy. That system is kinda messed up. Also, how can “A” be credible when the statement was recanted?
