Song Kang revealed he’s lost weight for his upcoming drama “Nevertheless”!
On June 18, “Nevertheless” press conference was held online to prevent the spreading of COVID-19. Song Kang, Han So Hee and director Kim Ga Ram attended the press conference to discuss the upcoming JTBC drama “Nevertheless.”
Some fan might’ve noticed Song Kang looked a bit slimmer in “Nevertheless” and he’s finally confirmed that he’s lost weight, the actor said he’s lost 5 kg (around 11 pounds), but why?
Song Kang explained,
“I thought a lot, about how I should go about acting my role, but I was able to portray the character well by frequently communicating with our director.”
He added that he’s lost 5 kg to be more synchronized with his character Park Jae Un, he said,
“Park Jae Un might seem like a soft person at first, but he has cold vibes, in order to accurately portray that, I thought it would be nice to have a sharp feature, so I lost 5 kg.”
“Nevertheless” is an upcoming romance drama based on a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of Yoo Na Bi (Han So Hee), who wants to date but doesn’t believe in love, and a man named Park Jae Uhn (Song Kang), who thinks dating is a bother but wants to be date around.
The drama only has 10 episodes and will air once weekly, and will premiere on June 19 at 11PM KST.

I watching some previews of the upcoming drama and I saw that he’s lost some weight because his face looked even smaller than usual.
I really like Song Kang’s dedication, I also find his choices to be rather interesting and different from what other actors who found massive success like him had done. “Nevertheless” is going to be only 10 episodes, I don’t really have high expectations, I expect it to be a melo-slow romance drama judging by the previews. Regardless, I’ll surely check it out.
The pairing is so cute and it’ll be interesting to see what he does with his character, because he’s been playing some interesting characters throughout his short career thus far. I like how experimental he is.
