KBS Drama “Imitation” Becomes The Lowest Rated Drama Ever In A Major Broadcasting Station History

KBS Drama “Imitation” has officially broken the record to become the lowest-rated drama on a major broadcasting station in their entire history on June 11. 

The KBS idol drama premiered to shockingly low ratings but with its most recent episode, the drama ratings have gone down to a new low and have broken a record.

According to Nielsen Korea, “Imitation” episode 6 scored 0.7% during its first half, and 0.4% during its second half. With 0.4% the drama has officially become the lowest rated drama ever on a major broadcasting station series.

The record was held by the MBC drama “Dae Jang Geum is Watching” which scored 0.7% for its lowest rated episode. Meanwhile, KBS’s drama “Welcome” holds the 3rd place now with 0.9%. Followed by KBS’s “Lovely Horribly” with 1% and “Manhole” with 1.4% in 4th and 5th place respectively.

“Imitation” is led by Jung Ji So, U-KISS‘s Jun, Jiyeon, ATEEZ‘s Yunho, SF9‘s Chani, and more. It tells the story of idols in the industry and how they deal with every day pressure, it gives a look at the struggles and hardships idols have to go through on the daily basis.

  1. I am watching and I like it. I can’t explain domestic ratings, maybe I shouldn’t even try because some of the dramas who had high ratings seemed mediocre to me. I am sure Imitation will do good with the international audience. I also liked the webtoon. I am not a fan of Jung Ji So acting though. How hard it is to play a 20-year old girl in love? But she seems wooden to me. Apart from that it is very watchable and makes you sympathise with the characters. And Jun is really good.

  2. This really sucks because I am a huge Ateez fan. But the show doesn’t seem interested in capitalizing on its star power at all, and promotion seems nonexistent. Hope this can still boosts everyone’s careers who are involved.
