Former BTOB Member Jung Ilhoon Appeals Sentence For Marijuana Charges

Jung Ilhoon has decided to appeal his sentence.

On June 14, Jung Ilhoon’s lawyer filed an appeal to the Seoul Central District Court over the first trial’s ruling.

On June 10, Jung IlHoon was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 133 million won (approximately $119,200) for violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc. Causing a huge shock to fans all around the world.

He was also immediately taken under custody as the court believed there was a possibility he might flee.

Jung IlHoon had previously been charged on the suspicion of purchasing and smoking 826 grams (approximately 1.8 pounds) of marijuana using approximately 130 million won (approximately $116,500) across 161 instances between July 5, 2016, and January 9, 2019, together with seven other people.

When the news was revealed in late 2020 fans were shocked, due to his controversy, he’s left BTOB in December of 2020. He had been serving as a public service worker since May 2020.
