Its finally been confirmed!

On May 21 at 1 p.m. KST, the “Butter” music video was released. The fandom had a goal in mind, to break the most viewed MV in the first 23-hours record, but that was not an easy feat since BTS’s hit “Dynamite” music video holds the record with 101.1 million views, meaning the fandom had to work extra hard to overtake that spot.

Unofficially, after the first 24 hours, “Butter” music video recorded 112.8 million views. Fans had been waiting for a confirmation from YouTube on whether they managed to break the record or not.

And we finally have the answer, and it is a YES. YouTube has confirmed that the “Butter” music video was viewed 108.2 million times in the first 24 hours meaning it has officially broken their previous record!

YouTube has also confirmed that “Butter” music video broke the YouTube premiere record with over 3.9 million concurrent viewers at its peak, also overtaking the previous world record held by BTS’s “Dynamite” with over 3 million concurrent viewers at its peak.

Congratulations, BTS!
