It hasn’t even been that long but BTS “Butter” has already broken so many Guinness World Records!
On May 25 local time, Guinness World Records announced that BTS “Butter” had officially broken five of their records.
BTS “Butter” broke the world record for “the most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube” with 3.9 million at its peak, which was also already confirmed by YouTube. Added to that, it also broke the record for “the most viewers for the premiere of [any] video on YouTube.”
Added to that, BTS “Butter” not only broke the record for “the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group,” but it also broke the overall record for “the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours” by any artist. YouTube had also previously confirmed it racked up 108.2 million views in the first 24 hours of its release.
Lastly, “Butter” has broken the world record for “the most streamed track on Spotify in the first 24 hours.” According to Spotify, “Butter” was streamed 11,042,335 times in the first 24 hours of its release, breaking the previous record of 10.977 million streams set by Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s 2019 hit “I Don’t Care.”
With the addition of these new records, BTS now holds an impressive total of 23 Guinness World Records.
