(G)I-DLE‘S Soojin will be halting activities in her group for the time being!

On March 4, Cube Entertainment stated in an official press release that Soojin will temporarily halt activities in her group following the bullying accusations made against her.

Previously, Soojin was accused of bullying, however, Cube Entertainment has denied the accusations, and Soojin herself issued a personal statement to deny them as well. Despite that, more people came out with accusations against her and the public view of her has changed a lot. Various advertisements she’s been endorsing have deleted her content and some k-fans have been demanding a response from Cube regarding the course of action they’ll take regarding Soojin.

In their newly released statement, Cube Entertainment apologized for the delay in the response,

“Hello, this is Cube Entertainment.

We would like to make our official statement regarding (G)I-DLE Soojin’s school days.

Firstly, we’d like to apologize for not being able to convey our position quickly. We ask for your understanding as we did our best to verify the facts and it took us a long time to proceed with the verification process.

We have checked the situation with Soojin’s school, teachers, and several classmates. In our confirmation process, it is true that there were between Soojin and the student, but no other statements made by the author were confirmed.

Therefore, we proposed a face-to-face meeting between the authors of the posts and us to check the facts, however, the parties involved have stated they do not wish to meet. But, if the parties involved wish to meet in the future, we can arrange a meeting any time.

Currently, Soojin has halted all activities and (G)I-DLE will continue as a five-member team for the time being.”

They wrapped up their statement apologizing to everyone for causing an inconvenience due to the issues but warned they would be taking strict legal action against malicious comments and the spreading of false rumors. They ended with, “We’ll do our best to clarify the facts related to this matter so that no one will be unfairly damaged.”

Soojin joins the growing list of celebrities accused of being bullies amid a new movement, the list includes Actor Ji Soo, LOONA’s Chuu, MONSTA X’s Kihyun, Sunwoo of THE BOYZ, Stray Kids Member Hyunjin, Actress Park Hye Soo, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and Kim Dong Hee to name a few.

Thoughts on their statement?
