MONSTA X I.M’s shirt has garnered a lot of attention and backlash from Muslim fans after the recent concept photos release.

Recently, Starship Entertainment has released new concept photos of MONSTA X I.M’s upcoming solo debut. The solo teaser images soon became a hot topic of discussion with one photo in particular drawing attention. The photo in question had the inscription “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim” written on it in Arabic.

For those who aren’t Muslims, the inscription is a sacred phrase for Muslims and translates to “In the name of Allah, The Most Gracious and The Most Merciful.” It’s an integral part of Muslim lives and is used daily for many different purposes such as reciting Quran and prayers.

Soon, fans began commenting on the concept photos and demanded that Starship Entertainment delete them and issue an apology, some fans also began sending emails to the company regarding the issue in attempt to explain why this is unacceptable for Muslims.

On February 15, Starship Entertainment issued an apology to fans, here is what they wrote,
