JYP Entertainment has quickly responded to the stylist who called them out on a recent issue.

Recently, TWICE members Dahyun and Chaeyoung covered Rain and J.Y. Park’s “Switch To Me.” During the MV, fans noticed that Dahyun was wearing a modernized hanbok which looked similar to the customized hanbok jacket worn by BLACKPINK’s Jisoo in the “How You Like That” MV.

Soon, the designer and visual director Kim Balko; who worked on the BLACKPINK’s custom-made hanboks, posted to her instagram stories to express her shock, she wrote,

“Ehhng??!! My custom design work is in a video that I didn’t participate in??”

The custom-made hanboks are very unique and have been specifically designed for the BLACKPINK members and tweaked accordingly. Many fans believe that the custom Hanboks worn by BLACKPINK marked a new beginning in the use of modernized hanbok in the world of K-Pop.

As the issue grew bigger, JYP Entertainment issued an official apology, they wrote,

“Hello. This is JYP Entertainment.

Regarding the outfit seen in Dahyun and Chaeyoung’s Melody Project video, this hanbok piece was purchased through a hanbok distributor and wasn’t properly recognized as another similar product. We sincerely apologize for this.

We have given an explanation of the situation and our deepest apologizes to the designer. We will be more careful in the future so this kind of incident never happens again.”
