BTS Suga will be taking a break after undergoing surgery for his shoulder injury!

Fans were surprised and slightly worried after Big Hit Entertainment released a lengthy statement announcing that BTS Suga had undergone surgery on the 3rd of November to repair a torn shoulder.

The surgery was decided after lengthy discussions with the label and Suga, Big Hit also revealed that he decided to undergo the surgery in preparation for his mandatory military service. He was discharged today.

As a result of the surgery, Big Hit also revealed that it is unlikely for Suga to participate in promotions for the upcoming album “BE.”

Suga will be following his physician’s advice, he must undergo strict period of recovery. Many ARMY might have been already aware of this, but Suga had suffered an accident in 2012 before his debut, he was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder in 2013. Big Hit also added that in 2019, he was further diagnosed with ‘posterior labral tear of his left shoulder,’ which means that the cartilage around his left shoulder joint was torn. He’s been receiving treatment ever since so it won’t affect his activities.

Suga must rest and take physical therapy, Big Hit added,

“Suga wishes his fans to know that he is “very aware of how concerned and worried the fans must be and knows how sad the fans must feel.”

He said, “Please understand this time as being my chance to prepare to meet you again strong and healthy, and even if I must be away for a short while, please wait for me to come back to you.”

After the surprising news, fans trended #GetWellSoonYoongi on twitter. And shortly after Big Hit’s statement to Weverse, Suga posted his own statement to Weverse as well explaining his position and thanking fans for their support.
