Lee Min Ho has finally picked his next project!

It was recently revealed that Lee Min Ho had joined the cast of Apple TV+’s “Pachinko.” Fans are already super excited about the news. The drama is based on Min Jin Lee’s best-selling novel of the same title and tells the story of four generations of a Korean immigrant family, its about how the family’s history unfolds across continents (Korea, Japan, and the United States).

The project will feature Korean, Japanese, and English, and the story will be told over eight episodes. Filming is set to begin on October 26, the crew will film in Canada as well.

Lee Min Ho will play the role of Hansu, a rich powerful merchant who has ties to organized crimes. He is an opportunist who is true to his own desires while still wanting to be pure when it comes to love. He is a mysterious character who is hiding a secret while pursuing a forbidden romance. Korean news outlets are reporting that he’ll play an important role in the story.

Lee Min Ho joins Jin Ha, Anna Sawai, Kim Min Ha, Soji Arai, and Kaho Minami

The air date hasn’t been set yet but is expected to be some time in 2021.

Lee Min Ho had wrapped up “The King: Eternal Monarch” a couple of months ago.

Are you excited about his return?

My personal thoughts

This sounds extremely promising, all I can say is Apple be really pulling all the stops. They want to compete with Netflix and scoring such a huge novel and stellar cast is what it takes. I see potential.

Its been ages since I’ve seen Lee Min Ho play the role of someone who isn’t rich and powerful, guess I’ll have to wait a bit more. This drama seems to be different from the regular kdrama, I am sure fans will support him. I hope he can pull off the character well, it’ll be very interesting to see him play a character that doesn’t seem to be entirely good with its ties to organized crimes and all.

Apple is really doing its best to catch up to Netflix, all the better for us viewers cause we get to see interesting novels getting made into series acted out by our favs.
