Could Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop end up leading this upcoming historical drama?
On October 5, it was reported that Kim Yoo Jung will be starring in upcoming SBS drama “Hong Chun Gi,” a historical drama that actor Ahn Hyo Seop is also in talks for.
Following the initial reports, Kim Yoo Jung’s agency confirmed that she had received an offer to discuss the drama but is currently reviewing it.
“Hong Chun Gi” is based on a novel of the same title by Jung Eun Gwol, who also wrote the original novels for “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” and “The Moon Embracing the Sun.” It’s a fantasy romance set in the Joseon era. Kim Yoo Jung was offered the leading role of Hong Chun Gi, Joseon’s only female painter, a beauty who has bright energy and an extraordinary memory.
Fans are excited about the possibility of Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop teaming up for this project. Previously, they were supposed to star opposite each other on “Clean with Passion for Now,” but Ahn Hyo Seop had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts after the drama postponed production.
“Hong Chun Gi” will be directed by “My Love From the Star” and “Hyena” director Jang Tae Yoo.
Do you think they’d make a good pair?
My Personal Thoughts
I am super interested in Kim Yoo Jung’s next move after she signed with a new agency. Her last two projects weren’t my favorite of her. She shines in historical projects and the character seems to fit her to a tee, it’ll be interesting to see if she picks this project.
It would also be nice if Kim Yoo Jung and Ahn Hyo Seop teamed up. He’s around her age and I’ve been begging for Yoo Jung to be paired with someone around her age, not men 13 years older.
