BLACKPINK is on track to set records and possibly become a million-seller.

On September 4, YG announced that BLACKPINK’s first studio album “THE ALBUM” has surpassed 800,000 stock pre-orders in just six days (530,000 stock pre-orders from Korea, 270,000 pre-orders from the United States and Europe). The agency stated that the limited-edition LP was sold out ‘in a split second,’ and they’re in the process of producing more albums since the sales volume exceeded their expectations.

Expectations are drawn to the group’s upcoming album and many speculate that the number of pre-orders will likely rise since there is almost one month left until the official album release. Much attention is drawn to BLACKPINK, industry insiders wonder if they’ll be able to become a million-seller.

“THE ALBUM” will be released on October 2; it will include BLACKPINK’s collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Sour Candy,” “How You Like That,” and their collaboration with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream.” The tracklist hasn’t been revealed yet.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
