Upcoming tvN drama “Vincenzo” has revealed the main cast lineup!
The upcoming drama will tell the story of an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere Vincenzo Cassano, who moves back to Korea after a conflict with his organization members. In Korea, he gets involved with a tough lawyer Hong Cha Young. Together they work on bringing down villains using methods that could be considered unlawful.
Song Joong Ki will play the Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere Vincenzo Cassano, he got adopted at the age of 8 by an Italian family, when he goes back to Korea, he falls in love with lawyer Hong Cha Young and solves cases using his own methods.
Jeon Yeo Bin will take on the role of Hong Cha Young, an ace lawyer at Korea’s best law firm Woosang. She is more focused on how advantageous or disadvantageous of a situation someone is in, rather than their innocence or guilt. She begins to change after meeting Vincenzo Cassano.
Taecyeon will take on the role of Jang Jun, a handsome and intelligent intern at a legal firm, he has a quirky side but trusts his senior at work, Hong Cha Young.
The first script reading session was held on August 9.
“Vincenzo” will be written by screenwriter Park Jae Bum, who previously wrote “Good Manager” and “The Fiery Priest,” and will be directed by Kim Hee Won of “Money Flower.”
“Vincenzo” is slated to premiere in the first half of 2021.

My Personal Thoughts
This is weird… not the casting but who the screenwriter is… This is the same guy who found massive success writing comical dramas so I am kinda surprised that he’s coming back with what seems to be a serious topic.
He has hits and misses under his belt (he also wrote ‘Blood’), but I think overall, he’s a good entertaining screenwriter. I love director Kim Hee Won, he’s very talented, I like his style.
I am intrigued by Song Joong Ki’s choice and I am sure the drama was interesting and unique enough for him to have picked it; he’s been very picky with his projects in recent years.
The plot is also intriguing, but I wonder whether they’ll film in Italy or not. They have a small window to film there (if they plan to) since borders will probably close by fall as we enter the second wave.
While I do like Taecyeon, the guy is not the best actor out there, and among the idol actors I’ve seen over the years, he’s the one who has shown the least Improvement in terms of acting, he’s always stiff. I really like him and I think he’s an amazing gentleman but I can’t watch his dramas. Song Joong Ki is a great actor so pairing him with Taecyeon will show us the discrepancy between their acting skills even more.
I haven’t seen any Jeon Yeo Bin project yet, she’s more active in movies rather than dramas, but she’s around the same age as Song Joong Ki. The pairing is unlikely but interesting. Overall, I am excited about this drama.
