EXO Chen has rarely made any public appearances or SNS posts since his marriage and baby news in early 2020. He’s been away from the limelight for the majority of this year.
While his marriage news was welcomed by most real fans, some decided to form a union in an attempt to kick him out of the group.
Despite their continuous efforts, they failed miserably and SM flat out denied the rumors that Chen would leave EXO. This didn’t stop them from continuously trying to advocate for his departure from the group because they believe he’s ‘hurting EXO’s image.’ They’ve been doing a lot of ridiculous things to demonstrate to SM that they want him out of EXO.
On August 5, EXO’s fanbase became 6 years old, and to celebrate that fans trended hashtags and EXO members took to social media to wish their fandom a happy anniversary. Chen posted a congratulatory post on the official LYSN fancafe and apparently, ‘fans’ were enraged.
“EXO-L, congratulations on your 6th birthday. I hope you enjoy at least today, freely~!!”
Soon, comments on his posts turned hateful and ‘fans’ commented things like, ‘leave the group,’ ‘we don’t accept a married couple,’ ‘CHEN-OUT’ and much much worse. The comments were so bad and hateful that international EXO-Ls pleaded others to go to the app and post positive messages for Chen to see.
Comments on Korean online communities such as the qoo weren’t much better; many people still expressed their dissatisfaction with Chen’s message.
What do you think of this?
