“It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” has gained attention from k-netizens but it’s not for what you’d expect.

Both Seo Ye Ji and Kim Soo Hyun are getting a lot of praise for their acting in this drama but something else attracted netizens attention and that is Seo Ye Ji’s character sexual remarks towards Kang Tae (Kim Soo Hyun’s character).

Spoilers of episode 5:

During the 5th episode of the drama, Moon Young sleeps in Kang Tae’s apartment. As he washes the dishes, here are some of her lines,

“Finish that and come here, lay beside me. Seems like you used to be a servant in your previous life. And I’m the master. The backside of you, running errands, looks tasty”

After Kang Tae turns around and with an angry face, she says,

“Ah, I mean ‘cool’, not ‘tasty’”

You can check out the controversial scene below:

K-netizens discussed the topic and their reactions to the scene weren’t nice, here are some of their comments,

Wasn’t that sexual harassment? so sexual harassment is okay?

Ah, this line is pathetic

When will the writer clarify this?

This is exactly why I am not watching the drama

And more.

This isn’t the first time Moon Young’s lines irked netizens, last week episodes also got into controversy for the same reason.

However, fans soon jumped into the drama defense, “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” plotline already explains why Moon Young behaves that way. The character suffers from ASPD (Antisocial personality disorder), for this particular disorder, ‘low moral sense or conscience is often apparent.’

According to Healthline, people with ASPD display a long-term pattern of:

  • disregarding the law
  • violating the rights of others
  • manipulating and exploiting others

These are all in line with the way Moon Young behaves in the drama. Fans also argue that the drama isn’t trying to pass off such behavior as normal or acceptable but quite the opposite.

  1. They really should go and find some real job, if they are so bored. If they don’t like the drama, they should just stop watching it. Why are they making such a big deal out of this. These k-netizens always have a problem with every drama. They should just quit watching them if it bothers them so much
