Why Ji Chang Wook & Kim Yoo Jung chose to join the drama
During the press conference of the drama, Ji Chang Wook was asked about why he decided to join “Backstreet Rookie” and his answer is surprisingly warm, he said,
“It’s not a grand story, and there are no extreme incidents, but the warmth within the story really moved my heart a lot.”
Kim Yoo Jung also said that she enjoyed the aspect of the convenience store and how it could become a place where people enjoy their time, laugh and rest.

During the first episodes of “Backstreet Rookie,” Kim Yoo Jung is seen using her fist and physically taking on bad people; PD Lee Myung Woo revealed that she actually took on most of the difficult action scenes herself without using a stunt double.
To top that off, it’s also Kim Yoo Jung’s first time using her fists in a drama, she said that she felt ‘nervous, but had fun filming’ her scenes.
Do Sang Woo is a model-turned-actor
Unless you’re an avid Do Sang Woo fan, there is a good chance you didn’t know that he actually started his career as a model before becoming an actor. He is a staple at Seoul Fashion Week and actually owns a ping pong and bear bar in Itaewon where he hangs out with his model friends.
He gained attention after playing the role of Gong Hyo Jin’s ex-boyfriend in the mega hit drama “It’s Okay, That’s Love.”
Han Sun Hwa’s brother is a mega kpop star

Laboum Solbin way of speaking to BTS Jin got her in trouble with BTS fans.

Do Sang Woo Is The Only Main Lead Cast Member Of “Backstreet Rookie” Who’s Been In A Public Relationship
Publicly dating as a Korean celebrity is often difficult and fans’ reactions differ based on many different variables. Among the main cast of “Backstreet Rookie,” Do Sang Woo is the only one who was confirmed to be publicly dating.
Do Sang Woo met Kim Yoon Seo on the set of the 2015 MBC weekend drama “The Legendary Witch.” They confirmed they were dating in 2017 and announced their breakup four years after they began dating, the breakup news was confirmed back in late 2019.

In a recent interview, Ji Chang Wook opened up about why he chose acting and how his parents weren’t on board with the idea at first.
He says he thought about becoming an actor when he was in high school because the job was ‘cool and I wanted to do it.’ However, he got into a huge fight with his parents because they didn’t support his decision to apply to the acting department in his university; he says they eventually came around when he started making money.

“Backstreet Rookie” has gotten itself in controversy over its first episode which many deemed to be too sexually suggestive in nature. According to the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KOCSC), the drama has received 6,384 civil complaints. They stated that the show received the greatest number of complaints in the last year and is one of the shows that received the greatest numbers of complaints as well.
Kim Yoo Jung Was Diagnosed With Hypothyroidism
Back in early 2018, the actress worried fans when it was announced that she was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism, a condition where the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone.
It can cause a number of symptoms, such as poor ability to tolerate cold, a feeling of tiredness, constipation, slow heart rate, depression, and weight gain
She was originally scheduled to film for the drama “Clean with Passion for Now,” but it had to be halted until she got better. She took a hiatus to focus on her health and came back a couple of months later when she felt okay enough to film a project.
Fans welcomed her with arms wide open and were happy to hear she got better.
