tvN’s new drama “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” ratings have dropped on its second day!

On June 21, “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” aired its second episode but according to Nielsen Korea, the drama rating declined. The 2nd episode rated an average nationwide rating of 4.7% which is a lot lower than its 1st episode which had scored 6.1%.

Initially, “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” premiered at the top of its timeslot with its first episode but the same can’t be said about its second episode.

But Why?

“It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” is getting a lot of favorable reactions from netizens for its story, acting and feel. However, the drama has unfortunately seen a decline in ratings despite the hype and despite the fact that it is actor Kim Soo Hyun’s first post-military comeback.

Fans are hopeful that the drama ratings will pick up in the next weeks.

Have you seen “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” premiere? what did you think of it?

My Personal Thoughts

wow! I didn’t expect the ratings to drop this far, I am kinda surprised….

After seeing the 1st and 2nd episode of “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay,” I concluded that it was okay. I liked the premiere and the feel of the drama a lot but as I said in my review of the 1st and 2nd episode, I was surprised by how slow the pacing was.

The drama took its time and I was surprised by that. Not that I hate it so far but its not what I expected.

The ratings declining isn’t the end for “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” yet, it could still see a rise later and keep its position. But as one netizen said on a Korean website that talked about the drama, this type of drama needs a hook us in with something by its 3rd episode or else it’ll lose its charm.

I think if the drama continues to follow the same pattern, its going to become boring but its too early to tell. “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” lacks that spark that hooks you right in, I am waiting for that and I hope it comes soon!

  1. I didn’t buy this drama right from time so not surprise for the low rating. Haven’t watch it yet and I don’t thing I will. Korean writer should stop giving us we know each other when we were young things is just too much, must the main lead met when they were young. TKEM drama writer is still my best she has never given us that we knowing each other korean routine writing. Writers should learn from her.

  2. This is an amazing drama. I like it from 1st episode to episode 5, i cant understand why it suffers a decline in rating.
I want to watch already! Excited with the next episode

  3. Ofcourse, if you can’t empathize with what the drama’s “main points” – trauma/mental health/psychological abuse, You will never get the feel of it. From what I see, (IN MY OPINION) problem with people in SoKor, they prefer light-hearted, easy to understand/to accept dramas. Mental health in SoKor is close to taboo already. This drama wants to show awareness to “normal” people that there are people who are different from us due many explainable reasons that the society can’t even do. As Kim Soo Hyun says, Human Healing Drama.

“Those who haven’t experienced suffering will not truly know what suffering is.”
