BLACKPINK Makeup Artist Maeng is under fire!

BLACKPINK has been teasing fans with various concept photos ahead of their highly anticipated comeback with “How You Like That.” Jennie’s makeup in one of the photos attracted lots of attention but it’s now attracting criticism towards the one who did it.

Instagram make-up artist Nushafarin has accused BLACKPINK’s makeup artist Maeng of plagiarizing her work around the eyes of Jennie, the look in question was first uploaded by Nushafarin in February of 2020, she stated that she has attempted to resolve this issue with YG to no success,

“Hi guys, just wanted to make an official post to address what recently happened. I firstly want to thank those of you who have been so supportive and kind through all of this. This includes BLINK. I’m sorry if I have not been able to reply to everyone’s lovely messages, but I want to take this chance to tell you how much I appreciate all the love and support I have been shown.

I have not been able to sort the issue myself and have expressed my concerns in this post. To summarise, my work was clearly plagiarized and I wish to hold big companies and MUAs (@yg_ent_official, @iammaeng) accountable for when they mess up. I wanted to clear this up myself but have not had any luck. I would really appreciate if you continued the support you have been showing me! Lots of love.”

The issue has attracted mixed responses from BLINKs; some think YG should respond to the accusations and clear up the misunderstandings, while others think she’s simply trying to stir controversy and get attention.

Nushafarin has later revealed through her instagram stories that she’s been receiving threatening messages from some BLINKs.

YG Entertainment has not issued a response to the accusations yet.
