“The King: Eternal Monarch” is not airing tomorrow as expected!
On May 28, a source from SBS told news outlets that “The King: Eternal Monarch” episode 13 will not air on Friday, the 2011 film “Contagion” will air instead.
The source explained that the reason behind this move is to raise awareness of COVID-19, as more cases of the virus are on the rise in South Korea; they recently reached more than 70 patients for the first time in nearly two months.
SBS also added that the reason is not because there are issues with “The King: Eternal Monarch” as some rumors have suggested, they stated that they agreed with the production team to allow the film to air instead of “The King: Eternal Monarch” on May 29.
SBS also added that the filming for “The King: Eternal Monarch” has completed after 7 months. There are no problems and it will resume airing on May 30 as scheduled.
In related news, Ji Chang Wook upcoming drama “Backstree Rookie” is supposed to take over “The King: Eternal Monarch” after it finishes its run, but the air date will likely be pushed back slightly because of the sudden change.
