“The World Of The Married” Continues To Dominate Its Timeslot Despite Its Decline In Ratings

“The World Of The Married” has maintained its spot as the number one drama in its timeslot.

On May 8, “The World Of The Married” aired its 13th episode which comes after last week’s impressive feat, the drama surpassed “SKY Castle” to achieve the highest viewership ratings of any drama in Korean cable network history with its 12th episode.

According to Nielsen Korea, May 8 episode of “The World Of The Married” scored an average of 21.1%, a 3% decline from its last week record of 24.33%.

However, it is still impressive that a cable drama has been able to get past the 20% in ratings and maintain its ratings above that.

Meanwhile, SBS’s “The King: Eternal Monarch” scored its lowest rating in the series thus far, more details on that here.

My Personal Thoughts

“The World Of The Married” has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride, I enjoyed it for the most part. I’ve seen episode 13 and I am starting to believe the writer is running out of ideas.

“The World Of The Married” is based on a British series that only had 10 episodes, so I think the writer had a good idea how to handle the first 10 episodes but it’s starting to get absurd.

Episode 13 was okay but I felt that it was slower; I think its one of the slowest episodes in terms of development. Not that its bad, but we’re used to a higher dosage of drama. I am curious to see how the writer plans on wrapping things up and depending on today’s episode, I think it will either end up breaking its record again or never reach the same number.
