After months of speculations, it’s finally been confirmed!

On May 25, Big Hit officially announced that it has become the largest shareholder of Pledis Entertainment.

This means that Pledis is now considered a label of Big Hit Entertainment but will still be operated independently (similarly to Source Music). Pledis producer Han Sung Soo will be added to the powerful lineup of Big Hit’s creative leaders and from now on, and Pledis artists will receive professional and systematic support from Big Hit with more resources and connections on a global scale.

Pledis producer Han Sung Soo shared his personal comments on the happy news, stating that he’s happy to join Big Hit, and that he looks forward to the future that will be created by combining Pledis and Big Hit’s strengths.

Big Hit CEO Bang Si Hyuk added that he’s happy the two labels will collaborate from now on and will have the chance to grow together through ‘music and create synergy in the future.’

Pledis Entertainment is currently home to artists including NU’EST, SEVENTEEN, Nana, Bumzu, Kyulkyung, Yehana, and Sungyeon.

Are you happy about the news?
