As the situation surrounding coronavirus continues to escalate in South Korea, it seems that its starting to affect celebrities and public personas.
On February 24, it was revealed that JTBC Weather Forecaster & Game Announcer Kim Min Ah is currently being tested for coronavirus (Cornoa19) due to fever. She was absent from the morning JTBC weather show.
JTBC stated that the announcer is currently in self-isolation waiting on the results of the tests after she experienced fever. Her body temperature had risen above average, due to that, she decided it would be best to test for the virus and follow protocol.
This marks the first case of a public Korean persona publicly announcing they’re undergoing tests for coronavirus.
Recently, South Korea became the second most infected country with the virus following China. This morning, 161 new cases were discovered in South Korea, totaling the number of infected people to 763 and 7 fatalities.
South Korea has recently announced that the country is under the highest alert due to the virus outbreak.
