Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance fee for his upcoming drama “Psycho But It’s Okay” is making headlines everywhere.
On February 7, tvN confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun is coming back with “Psycho But It’s Okay,” fans interest in the upcoming drama is through the roof as it marks the Hallyu star first ever drama in five years and his first drama since his military discharge as well.
OSEN, a Korean news outlet, has released a report about Kim Soo Hyun’s appearance fee for the drama and it’s currently one of the biggest trending news on Naver.
According to OSEN, Kim Soo Hyun is said to be getting paid 200 million won ($168,800) per episode, his personal best so far. It is also estimated to be one of the highest appearance fees for a Korean actor in a drama ever. Its also estimated he’ll make an additional 200 million won from product replacement ads in the drama plus copyright sales as well.
A couple of years ago, it was reported that Kim Soo Hyun gets paid around $100,000 for each episode in a drama.
Kim Soo Hyun will play the role of community health worker Moon Kang Tae, who had a traumatic childhood losing his parents as a child; he had to become the family breadwinner at a young age. He spent his entire life looking after his older brother who is on the autism spectrum. He is always concerned about making enough money to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. He doesn’t believe his future will ever improve.
It’s been reported that “Psycho But It’s Okay” is scheduled to air in the first half of 2020.
