Four Of The Biggest Hallyu Stars Are Coming Back With Projects In 2020, Here Is What They Have In Store

2020 is going to be a big year for the Hallyu wave, with the return of some of the biggest names in the Korean industry, we’re bound to start and finish 2020 with a bang.

2019 was the year we welcomed back many great Korean actors who had been on a hiatus due to military service, this included Ji Chang Wook, Kim Soo Hyun and Lee Min Ho among many others. Ji Chang Wook has already come back with a project in 2019, but many of the actors who were discharged in 2019 haven’t had decided on their next project yet.





By 2020, some of the biggest names have already laid out their plans for their grand return. Four of the biggest hallyu stars Song Joong Ki, Kim Soo Hyun, Park Bo Gum and Lee Min Ho all have projects lined up in 2020 and fans can’t wait to see them on the small or big screen again.

Song Joong Ki is reuniting with “A Werewolf Boy” director for “Spaceship Victory,” the film is scheduled for a release in 2020 and Song Joong Ki is currently busy filming for the movie.

It will mark his first movie in three years. The good news don’t stop there, last night, tvN confirmed that “Arthdal Chronicles” is scheduled to begin production for its second season in 2020, tvN are working hard on bringing back the original cast for the second season, fans can’t wait to see if he’ll return to reprise his roles for “Arthdal Chronicles.”





Kim Soo Hyun’s return has been the topic of discussion among many fans for the past year. His appearance in “Hotel Del Luna” sparked huge interest, fans wanted to see him be the lead of the next installment of the drama so badly it was top trending news everywhere.

However, fans don’t have to dream about Kim Soo Hyun’s upcoming return any more. Recently, it was confirmed that he will be starring in the upcoming drama “Psycho But It’s Okay” (working title). This marks his first drama project since his military discharge, also his first in 5 years since “The Producers” in 2015.

It’ll focus on a community health worker who works at a psychiatric ward; he doesn’t have time for love and a storybook writer who has never known love due to a birth defect. After meeting each other, they begin healing one another’s wounds.

It’s been reported that the drama is scheduled to air in the first half of 2020.





Park Bo Gum also recently confirmed he’d be leading the upcoming tvN drama “Youth Record” alongside the Oscar winning film “Parasite” actress Park So Dam. The drama follows the lives of young people in the world of modeling. The drama is scheduled to air some time in May.

Last, but definitely not least, Lee Min Ho is also coming back. He is scheduled to come back with a new drama in 2020. He will take on double roles for the first time in his career for “The King: Monarch of Eternity” alongside Woo Do Hwan and Kim Go Eun. The highly anticipated SBS drama is scheduled to air in the first half of 2020.
