Lee Dong Wook will become the first-ever Korean actor to take on the male version of the popular mythical creature the Gumiho, which refers to the nine-tailed fox.
On December 26, it was confirmed that Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah are set to lead the upcoming drama “Tale of Gumiho.”
The drama will tell the story of the gumiho Yi Yeon, played by Lee Dong Wook, who once used to be the a living god of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range but now works as a public official between this world and the underworld. His job is to clean up the mess left by those who disturb the world of the living while hiding behind the mask of ghost tales. He is handsome, has great athletic abilities, self-righteous but violent at times.
Jo Bo Ah is set to play Nam Ji Ah, a producing director (PD) who is working on a program that is set to find urban legends, she is a bold woman who would do anything to get to the bottom of things, she is fearless, competitive, and has gotten the most requests for an injunction against broadcasting, her attendance the media arbitration committee is the highest of anyone.
“Tale of Gumiho” will air in 2020 on tvN. It will be helmed by director Kang Shin Hyo and written by Han Woo Ri, they both previously worked on OCN’s “Children of a Lesser God.”
