Famous Korean actor Kang Ji Hwan has received a suspended sentence of 3 years for the charges of quasi-rape and quasi-indecent acts by force.

On December 5, the Suwon District Court sentenced Kang Ji Hwan to 2 years and 6 months in prison suspended for 3 years. This means that he won’t spend time in prison but if he commits an offense during the three-year period, he will serve the prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months. In addition to that, he was ordered 120 hours of community service, 40 hours of rape treatment program, and a restriction on working with minors and disabled persons for 3 years.

This comes after the shocking news released on July 9, the police apprehended Kang Ji Hwan at his home in Gwangju on the suspicions that he sexually assaulted two female staff members while they were asleep.

Initially, he claimed he couldn’t recall the incident; he later canceled all his activities and eventually admitted to the majority of the charges against him in a statement on July 15. He did dispute certain parts of the evidence during his case hearing.

Kang Ji Hwan defense attorney requested leniency since he showed remorse for his wrongdoings.

Kang Ji Hwan will soon be discharged from the detention center where he is now being held.

  1. So no jail time for rape and assault, yet if any Korean smoked a little weed EVER in their lives (even in a country or state where it’s legal) it’s up to 3 years in the can and shaming for life. The legal priorities are so skewed over there.

  2. Disgusting they are going after B.I. for thinking about smoking weed and a rapist walks free ehat kind of system do they have over there that this is called justice
