It seems that “VIP” is the newest SBS hit!

“VIP” tells the story of hidden secrets of a team that handles VIP clients at a department store; Jang Nara takes on the role of Na Jung Sun, the highly competent skilled worker whose world gets turned upside down when she receives a message about her husband Park Sung Joon (played by Lee Sang Yoon), it completely changes her life.

“VIP” is Jang Nara second drama of 2019 after her hit drama “The Last Empress” earlier this year. The drama topped its timeslot upon its premiere.

According to Nielsen Korea, episodes 1 and 2 which aired on October 28 scored an average of 5.9% and 6.8% nationwide, while episode 3 and 4 scored 6.5% and 7.6%, with its 3rd and 4th episode, the drama was already able to top its timeslot.

This week’s ratings are also great. November 4 broadcast recorded an average of 6% and 8% nationwide, making it the drama highest yet. It’s been also reported that its most viewed-minute rated as high as 10.9%.

Have you checked out the premiere yet? What do you think of this drama so far?

My Personal Thoughts

*MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD*

I have checked out the drama and honestly, I like it so far. I have seen some drop this drama too soon but I think that they should give it a bit more time.

I think there is more to the cheating husband allegations than what meets the eye, but so far, I am enjoying the suspense. I would be impressed if the main male character (first lead) actually turns out to be a bad guy because this is something we rarely see in kdramas. Even if the lead is difficult or a jerk, he isn’t really marketed as such in most kdramas, and almost all of them have a set of morals they don’t abandon, it’ll be very interesting if the writer decided to go that route.

It might be certainly boring for some since it deals with marital issues but I still think you should give it a shot, I’ll decide whether to stick or not by episode 6, I am afraid it’ll keep spinning around the same point, but I also doubt that Jang Nara would choose such a basic script.
