Actor Yeo Jin Goo recently opened up about his friendship with idol BTS Jungkook for the first time and people finally got to learn more about how they connected and became friends.
Yeo Jin Goo was recently interviewed by a Japanese magazine, he was asked about how he became close to Jungkook, he revealed that they became friends through a mutual who isn’t even working in the entertainment industry.
Yeo Jin Goo said,
“I’ve only recently begun making friends in the same field. Jungkook is actually a friend of a friend and that friend isn’t from the entertainment business… But that’s how I was introduced to Jungkook.
When I realized we were the same age, I kind of opened up to him rather quickly. For some reason, I’ve never had any actor friends my age… so I’ve always wondered what it would be like to have that kind of friend.”
Yeo Jin Goo also revealed that they get along well and share similar personalities; they usually meet up in cafes.
Fans finally got to learn about how they became close. Earlier this year, they both showed support for each other by exchanging snack and coffee trucks. Jungkook sent Yeo Jin Goo a support truck to the set of his popular tvN drama “Hotel Del Luna” While Yeo Jin Goosent Jungkook a support truck to Busan for BTS’s fan meeting.
We’re glad they’re so close.

Why is age important for friendships in South Korea?
Maybe because using honorifics is a big issue with them? They can address them casually like by calling them with their first name if they are friends with same age. If not, honorifics must be used whether their friends are younger or older which is not as comfortable as with same age. But it doesn’t mean that age really “matters” when they become friends with someone.
