Following the shocking sudden departure of Wonho from MONSTA X, Wonho has posted a handwritten letter to his fans explaining the reason behind his departure while also acknowledging he had past mistakes.

Previously, a former TV personality accused him of not paying back his debt, and Han Seo Hee (known for being involved with YG artists) added fuel to the fire by claiming he had run-ins with the law.

Cube Entertainment had issued a statement denying the news initially before announcing their plans to take strict legal action against the spreading of malicious rumors. They, later returned with a statement announcing Wonho’ departure from the group.

Wonho has also uploaded a letter to fans, here is the translated letter:

“I’m Wonho.

First of all, I’d like to apologize for not keeping my promise to always make good times for our fans and for hurting you. Also, I am sorry to have caused concern to many people with my personal affairs.

While I was a member of MONSTA X, I was blessed and loved. Thank you very much for making such a precious memory for me. To the members who have worked hard with me, I also want to say thank you and that I love you. I’m so sorry [I would like to show my apologetic heart].

I had a time when I was immature and there were mistakes, big and small, but after I became a trainee and made my debut, I tried hard not to be ashamed of myself; I stayed on track and worked hard.

I’d like to tell you that I’m leaving Monsta X today.

I’m sorry to have caused damage to the members due to the unfortunate circumstances associated with me, and most of all, I’m sorry to have disappointed the fans who trusted and believed in me. I made this decision because I couldn’t watch people having a hard time because of me.

In addition to our members, I sincerely apologize to the fans who trusted and supported me.

Please support MONSTA X.

The Members have nothing to do with me.

I carefully ask you to at least give support and encouragement to the members.

The members are too good to stop and be hurt because of someone like me.

I am so thankful and apologetic to the staff, members and lastly our fans who have allowed me to enjoy such happiness up until this point and I’m sorry.”

  1. So he messed up as a kid, so what? Many of us do dumb stuff, learn from it and then try to do better. Is there no room for personal improvement in Korea? These idol standards are too strict.

BTW, Han Seo Hee s*cks. Never trust a bottom-feeding weed narc
