Kim Soo Hyun might be returning with a new drama very soon!
On October 17, Korean news outlets reported on Kim Soo Hyun’s possible return. A source from the drama industry reported that Kim Soo Hyun was in talks to lead tvN upcoming drama “Psycho But It’s Okay,” this drama is set to air in the first half of 2020.
“Psycho But It’s Okay” tells the story of a community health worker who lives on a 1,500$ salary a month, and a female storybook writer who has antisocial personality disorder, she is rude and arrogant.
If Kim Soo Hyun accepts the offer, he’ll take on the role of Moon Kang Tae, he’s smart and patient, he also has the ability to react quickly to sudden situations. He works at the community health worker at a psychiatric ward.
“Psycho But It’s Okay” will be directed by PD Park Shin Woo who previously worked on “Jealousy Incarnate” and “Encounter,” it will be written by Jo Yong of “Jugglers.”
If Kim Soo Hyun accepts the offer, it’ll be both his first project since his military discharge and his first drama in five years since “Producers” in 2015.
Park Shin Hye was also offered the leading role for the upcoming drama as well.
Are you excited about Kim Soo Hyun’s return?
My Personal Thoughts
OMGMGMGMGGM, YES PLEASE!
I pray for the Kdrama gods please pair Park Shin Hye and Kim Soo Hyun together; they would literally break the internet if they share the screen.
Aside from my dream, I actually think the script idea is very interesting and fresh. I rarely see kdramas that focuses on psychiatric wards in specific. It’ll be really interesting to see how the writer handles the script. This has lots of potential, I am also happy to see that the female character is not your happy-go-lucky typical female lead and the male lead character description also seems to be nice.
I wasn’t able to watch “Producers,” Kim Soo Hyun’s last drama, because it was boring and honestly discouraging. But, I am excited to see him back on screen in a different type of project; he’s never done something that revolves around hospitals in specific.
I bet Kim Soo Hyun is overwhelmed with the all offers he’s been getting. Everybody must be dying to cast him in their dramas, all eyes are on him and people can’t wait to see what type of project he returns with.
I seriously hope Kim Soo Hyun and Park Shin Hye accept these roles.
