Super Junior Heechul will, again, sit out of his group concert and music show promotions!

It was previously announced that Super Junior is preparing for a comeback in the second half of 2019 and in celebration of that will launch the 3rd season of their web variety show “SJ Returns 3.” They will also embark on a world tour.

However, Label SJ issued a statement announcing that Heechul will sit out of the concert and the music show promotions due to his injury. In their official statement released on their blog, they explain,

“After many discussions with the members, Heechul decided to not participate in ‘Super Show 8’ and the music show promotions for the ninth album.

Heechul’s leg condition makes it too difficult to continuously perform on stage.

Please understand why we made such a decision.”

This means that eight members will participate: Leeteuk, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Choi Siwon, Ryeowook, and Kyuhyun.

What do you think of SM’s decision?

My Personal Thoughts

Heechul damaged his leg beyond repair, he said so himself previously on variety shows. He doesn’t need to strain himself too much, his fans understand.

He will do well, as usual, in promoting his group on variety shows and I believe that’s good enough. He has worked very hard over the past decade to promote with his group there is no need to cause more damage to his legs. I am glad SJ Label issued this response.

It is sad but considering how demanding the tour is, it’ll be difficult for him to carry on performing with his condition, accommodating his injury would cost a lot and be of little solace to the members and fans I believe. This was a good conclusion.

I am excited to see Super Junior next comeback, it’ll be interesting to hear from all of them. I would have loved to see Sungmin join but we all know that its not happening.

Fighting!
