Park Yoochun’s future looks bleak!
It was previously reported that Park Yoochun would be looking at 7 and a half years in prison for the charges against him, lawyer Kim Hee Joon spoke to MBC “Section TV” and discussed the possible sentence the former idol could receive.
However, that projection was made before Park Yoochun admitted to most of the charges made against him and before he confessed to 2 more instances of drug use.
According to lawyer Kim Hee Joon, Park Yoochun is looking at a maximum of 15 years in prison and at least 10 years behind bars.
The lawyer explains how the 15 years estimation came to be,
“Under the narcotics law, one instance of drug use you face no more than 5 years in prison.
If you purchase drugs then its no more than 10 years in prison.
If you’ve done it multiple times, it could scale up to 15 years in prison.
Park Yoochun is also a first-time offender, but he is expected to be punished more severely than the usual first-time offender because he didn’t repent on his wrongdoings at the beginning.”
Park Yoochun is currently in jail pending prosecution, the police previously revealed that his case will be wrapped up and forwarded to the prosecution this week.
