South Korea has declared a state of emergency as of April 5 at 9 p.m. KST because of the dangerous mountain fires that have spread throughout Gangwon province.

The emergency state affects the following provinces: Goseong, Sokcho, Gangreung, Donghae, and Injae.

The government and the fire department have been doing their best to contain the fire.

As a result, YG Entertainment announced on April 5th morning that the press conference for BLACKPINK comeback has been canceled in solidarity with the residents of Gangwon Province.

In their official statement, the agency asked the journalists and the fans for their understanding and concluded,

“We offer our heartfelt condolences to the victims of the fire and those who have worked hard as the first responders.”

BLACKPINK dropped their newest mini album “Kill This Love” on April 5 at midnight KST.

Meanwhile, “Kill This Love” has reached an unprecedented number of views in the first 24 hours. You can watch the video here.
