Taylor Swift fans are not happy with YouTube right now!
On April 25 (local time) Taylor Swift released her new single “Me” ft. Brendon Urie. Fans were super excited about her new release and millions tuned to YouTube to check out the music video.
However, shortly after its release, “Me” views went down from 30 to 20 million views, YouTube system had deleted 10 million views. Taylor Swift fans noticed the sudden reduction in views and called out YouTube for it as well.
BTS most recent release “Boy With Luv” had also previously lost 10 million views at once during the first 24 hours of its release, it also lost 8 more million views in the days following its release which sparked a massive outrage from ARMY who demanded YouTube gives back the views deleted.
Despite the setback “Me” still managed to set a new record for Taylor Swift, it garnered 56.9 million in the first 24 hours according to Hollywood Reporter, thus becoming one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube in the first 24 hours.
For now, it means that “Me” broke the record set by BLACKPINK with “Kill This Love,” “Kill This Love” officially recorded 56.7 million view in the first 24 hours.
The count on YouTube is not official and we need to wait for YouTube source to confirm the number, the actual number of views in the first 24 hours could be lower or higher.
