Park Yoochun has been placed under arrest!
On April 26, the Suwon District Court issued an arrest warrant for Park Yoochun, they explained that it’s necessary as ‘there are concerns of Park Yoochun destroying evidence or fleeing.’
This comes after hours of deliberation by the court; the Narcotics Unit of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency had previously requested a pre-trial detention warrant for Park Yoochun on April 23rd.
Park Yoochun had tested positive for Philopon. On April 25, his lawyer issued a statement claiming his innocence. Park Yoochun had previously claimed that he never used drugs at an emergency press conference he held to clear his name prior to be investigated by police.
Park Yoochun is suspected of having purchased 1.5 grams of Philopon with his former fiancé Hwang Ha Na on three occasions between February and March of 2019 and injecting the drugs five times.
Park Yoochun former agency had previously parted ways with him and announced their official position on April 24, they also announced his retirement.
A Korean lawyer also recently estimated that Park Yoochun could serve up to 7 years and a half in prison for the charges that will be brought against him.
